Description: Un disco es un sistema de materia aplanado que describe un movimiento circular coplanar alrededor de un centro común. El material que compone un disco puede ser de muy diversa índole, como gas, polvo o incluso estrellas. Algunos ejemplos son los discos de acreción alrededor de protoestrellas, los discos protoplanetarios alrededor de objetos estelares jóvenes, los discos de acreción alrededor de núcleos galácticos activos y los discos galácticos.
