Glossary term: Radiação de micro-ondas

Description: A radiação de micro-ondas é a região do espectro eletromagnético com comprimentos de onda de aproximadamente 1 milímetro a 1 metro. Essa é a extremidade do espectro de ondas de rádio com comprimento de onda mais curto. Em comparação com a luz visível, as micro-ondas têm comprimentos de onda longos, o que significa que transportam menos energia por fóton e, portanto, não podem produzir ionização. Os longos comprimentos de onda das micro-ondas fazem com que elas não são sejam afetadas pela poeira, permitindo que objetos imerso em ambientes empoeirados sejam estudados.
