Glossary term: Satélite
Description: Un satélite es un objeto que orbita alrededor de un planeta, un planeta enano o un cuerpo más pequeño, como un asteroide. Pueden ser satélites artificiales lanzados por el ser humano o satélites naturales, conocidos normalmente como lunas. La Tierra tiene un satélite natural, la Luna, y muchos satélites artificiales que orbitan a su alrededor.
El término «galaxia satélite» también se utiliza a veces para referirse a una galaxia que orbita alrededor de otra galaxia.
