الوصف: في نظامنا الشمسي، الكواكب الداخلية هي:
عطارد، الزهرة، الأرض، والمريخ.

تُسمّى "داخلية" لأن مداراتها تقع داخل حزام الكويكبات، أي بين الشمس وحزام الكويكبات.

تتميّز هذه الكواكب بأنها:
- صخرية (تُعرف بالكواكب الأرضية).
- لها أسطح صلبة.
- تملك غلافاً جوياً رقيقاً نسبياً مقارنة بالكواكب العملاقة الغازية مثل المشتري وزحل، التي تتكوّن أغلفتها بشكل رئيسي من الهيدروجين والهيليوم.
