Haopeng is currently an Assistant Researcher at the International and Regional Cooperation Department of the Beijing Planetarium. He received his Ph.D. in Astrophysics from the National Astronomical Observatories, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2024. His research interests include Galactic archaeology and astronomy education.

The International Astronomical Union is pleased to announce the founding of four new “branch offices” of the Office of Astronomy for Education (OAE): the OAE Center China–Nanjing, the OAE Center India, the OAE Center Egypt and the OAE Node Republic of Korea
The Office of Astronomy for Education is hosted by the Haus der Astronomie on the campus of the Max Planck Institute for Astronomy in Heidelberg. The Office of Astronomy for Education is an office of the International Astronomical Union, with substantial funding from the Klaus Tschira Foundation and the Carl Zeiss Foundation. The Shaw-IAU Workshops on Astronomy for Education are funded by the Shaw Prize Foundation.
