Glossary term: Cromosfera
Description: La cromosfera (o "esfera de color") del Sol u otra estrella de tipo solar es la fina capa de la atmósfera situada directamente sobre la fotosfera, que es la capa más densa desde la que se emite la luz solar o estelar. Durante un eclipse total de Sol, la cromosfera es visible como un tenue anillo de gases incandescentes, en su mayoría hidrógeno que brilla con un color rojo, de ahí su nombre.
