印第安星座及其亮星和周圍星座。印第安星座周圍環繞著（按順時針方向）：顯微鏡座、人馬座、望遠鏡座、孔雀座、南極座、杜鵑座和天鶴座。由於印第安星座靠近南天極，因此在南半球的任何地點，在一年中的某個時段都能觀測到整個星座。對於北半球靠近赤道的狹窄區域，整個星座也可見，而北半球赤道其他區域則只能看到部分星座。在南半球溫帶和南極地區，印第安星座是拱極星座。該星座在北半球的秋季和南半球的春季夜晚觀測效果最佳。
