7TH SHAW-IAU WORKSHOP 2025 Proceedings

We are pleased to announce the publication of the proceedings of the 7th Shaw-IAU Workshop on Astronomy for Education!

As always, the proceedings offer summaries of all contributions and include links to recorded talks on the IAU Office of Astronomy for Education’s YouTube channel, as well as PDFs of the posters. This fully online workshop brought together around 800 participants from 94 countries and was made possible by generous funding from the Shaw Prize Foundation.

In addition to our three core topics—Astronomy Education in Practice, Astronomy Education Research, and Teaching Methods and Tools—this year’s workshop featured two special focus topics:

  • Teaching with Authentic Data – A special session highlighting methods for integrating real astronomical data into teaching.
  • Galaxies – A scientific session covering the latest discoveries about galaxies, their formation and evolution, and how to incorporate them in the classroom.
