Dieses Foto zeigt ein Küstengebiet in El Nido auf den Philippinen in der Dämmerung, also in der Zeit, in der die Sonne bereits unter dem Horizont steht, ihr Licht den Himmel jedoch noch erhellt. Die Klippen erscheinen als dunkle Silhouetten, während der Himmel noch im Restlicht der kurz zuvor untergegangenen Sonne erstrahlt.
Die Dämmerung wird in die bürgerliche, nautische und astronomische Dämmerung unterteilt, je nachdem wie weit die Sonne unter dem Horizont steht. Während dieser Zeit wird das Sonnenlicht in der Erdatmosphäre gestreut, sodass der Himmel teilweise hell bleibt, obwohl die Sonne selbst nicht mehr zu sehen ist.

Twilight is divided into civil, nautical, and astronomical stages, depending on how far the Sun is below the horizon. During this time, sunlight is scattered in Earth’s atmosphere, allowing the sky to remain partially bright even though the Sun itself is not visible.
