Description: Die Photosphäre ("Lichtkugel") ist die Schicht eines Sterns, aus der das Licht, das wir beobachten, austritt. Licht aus tieferen, dichteren Schichten wird absorbiert, bevor es aus dem Stern entweichen kann. Höhere Schichten sind weniger dicht und strahlen kein nennenswertes Licht ab.
