Talk - Educating The Public In Swinburne's Virtual Universe
Matthew Bailes
Swinburne University of Technology, ARC Centre of Excellence for Gravitational Wave Discovery
Swinburne University of Technology recently constructed a large-scale immersive 3D screen for the communication of science, dubbed "Swinburne's Virtual Universe". Patrons experience real-time generation of vivid 3D astronomy imagery using shutter glasses and the LED wall. In this talk I will demonstrate use of the software that drives the wall, and how it is being used to communicate the science of astronomy with examples from pulsar science and radio astronomy.
