Universal Design for Learning in Astronomy Education
Universal Design for Learning (UDL) is an educational framework that builds on the individual strengths and abilities of each student to support successful learning. It is based on the broader Universal Design framework, which aims to eliminate barriers in all aspects of everyday life. In education, UDL seeks to remove the physical, emotional, and cognitive barriers that many students face, particularly those with disabilities. This talk will provide an overview of the principles of UDL and present general strategies for developing astronomy educational resources that follow UDL principles.
