Dr Simon Kraus
Brief biography
Simon studied to become a teacher of physics and history at the University of Siegen, where he subsequently completed his doctorate at the Chair of Physics Education on a topic in astronomy education. He worked at a secondary school and as a interim professor in the didactics of physics and astronomy at the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena. Following this, he returned to the University of Siegen for several years as a postdoc. Since October 2024, he has been a research associate at the Haus der Astronomie. In addition to organizing teacher training and supervising a project to develop teaching materials, he is working on the development of teaching materials for use at the robotic telescope “Stellarium Gornergrat”. He is also interested in the history of astronomy and the connection of historical and modern data in the classroom.Affiliation: Haus der Astronomie
