Glossary term: Unità astronomica

Description: L'unità astronomica (UA) è una comoda unità di distanza, pari esattamente a 149.597.870,7 chilometri (km). Si tratta approssimativamente della distanza media tra la Terra e il Sole, che era una precedente definizione di UA. L'UA viene spesso utilizzata per misurare le distanze nel Sistema Solare e in altri sistemi planetari o stellari. Ad esempio, Nettuno orbita a circa 30 UA dal Sole.
