Rosa Doran is a physics and science educator devoted to integrating modern trends for innovation in the classroom with a special emphasis on the use of Astronomy for STEAM learning. She received a PhD in Science Education from the University of Coimbra in 2020. She also has MSc in the field of High Energy and Gravitation, in particular on Black Holes. She is the president of the executive council of NUCLIO (Núcleo Interativo de Astronomia), an NGO for development, vice-president of the panel education of COSPAR, the chair of the Galileo Teacher Training Program and the vice-president of the Executive Committee of the Global Hands-on Universe Association.

Alvaro Folhas is a Physics and Chemistry teacher in secondary school. He graduate in Analytical Chemistry (University of Aveiro), having a master's degree in Physics Teaching (NOVA University of Lisbon), and being a doctoral student at the University of Coimbra, developing research in the use of Astronomy for the interdisciplinary teaching of Sciences. He’s being also a researcher and core collaborator of "NUCLIO - Núcleo Interactivo de Astronomia e Inovação em Educação", and "CITEUC - Centre for Earth and Space Research of the University of Coimbra" (mentioned both in affiliation), collaborating in international projects in this field.

The Office of Astronomy for Education is hosted by the Haus der Astronomie on the campus of the Max Planck Institute for Astronomy in Heidelberg.
