Nathalya Chipandeka
Team Member, NAEC team - Namibia
Nathalya is a dedicated educator with a diverse background in teaching. She has taught everything from primary school to university-level courses. She holds a master's degree in management and a bachelor's degree in education. She is currently studying for her doctorate in project management. Appointed as a national head judge by National Commission on Research, Science and Technology (NCRST ), she is constantly seeking new and innovative ways to engage students in science, technology and innovation. She has worked with the Africa Millimetre Telescope and the University of Namibia through the Planetarium outreach program for cross-curricula of astronomy and Science in Namibian schools. She is passionate, driven and motivated to make the learning-teaching process interesting and fun.

Zandré Duvenhage
Team Member, NAEC team - Namibia
Program Liaison on behalf of the Africa Millimetre Telescope (AMT) Program
Zandré is contracted by the Radboud University (Netherlands) to act as the local program liaison. Using Windhoek as a home base, he also coordinates the AMT's educational outreach project which visits schools with a mobile planetarium across the country.
Zandré schooled in Windhoek, Namibia and matriculated in 2011. He then went on to study law (B Com and LLB) at the North West University in Potchefstroom. Returning to Namibia in 2018, he was admitted as an attorney of the High Court of Namibia in 2019 and then practiced as an attorney focusing on Intellectual Property Law and Commercial Dispute Resolution. In 2022 he became involved with the AMT Program.

Leena Iileka
Team Member, NAEC team - Namibia
Leena Mpingana Iileka was born in 1975 in Okahao, Omusati region. She completed her primary and secondary education in Okahao until 1994. Currently single, she is a mother of two sons who are pursuing their studies at universities.
In 1997, Leena registered for Public Administration at the Polytechnic of Namibia, but she didn't complete the program due to a change in career interests. Subsequently, in 2000, she enrolled at Windhoek College of Education for basic teaching training, successfully completing the program in 2002.
Her teaching career commenced in 2003 at Van Rhyn Primary School, where she has remained to date. In 2009, she was appointed as the Head of Department (HOD), a position she still holds.
Leena's involvement in promoting science education is notable. She initiated the internal science fair at Van Rhyn PS in 2004 and expanded its coordination at a cluster level. Additionally, she served on the Namsta committee, coordinating science fairs regionally and nationally from 2004 to 2007. Notably, she was nominated as a chaperone to the International Science Fair in Taiwan in 2005 and has served as a science fair judge from 2005 to 2017.
Continuing her professional development, Leena attended Geoscience workshops in Vienna in 2016, Cape Town in 2016 and 2017. Her dedication was acknowledged when she was awarded the UNESCO/China Great Wall Fellowship Program in 2019, obtaining a postgraduate diploma in Leadership and Management Policy.
In 2016, she founded an annual program for Teachers Information Sharing Seminar in Windhoek, which continues to run successfully.
Presently, Leena Mpingana Iileka serves as a teacher and Head of Department for Mathematics and Natural Sciences for grades 4-7 at Van Rhyn PS, where her dedication to education and science continues to make a significant impact.
